From the State Director
I am taken aback every time I read the statistics (see below) of how many people are still yet to hear about Jesus, and the resources (or lack thereof) that the Christian world is putting into sharing the Good News.
There is something seriously wrong with this picture! Whatever happened to making disciples of all nations?
It is for this reason that I am passionately involved in the work of Global Interaction – empowering communities to develop their own distinctive ways of following Jesus. We are primarily focussed on nine unreached people groups in Africa and Asia. I am excited about the prospect of seeing Queensland Baptists with a rejuvenated passion for unreached people through greater missional engagement.
Therefore, on 21 November I invite all Queensland Baptist Churches to join in a day of prayer for unreached people groups. The third Sunday of November, set aside for the third of the world who are yet to hear about Jesus in ways that resonate with them. For more information, resources and to sign up your church, contact Mary-Ann in the Queensland office.
Geoff Cramb
State Director Queensland
There are still billions of people on earth who have never had the chance to hear Jesus’ message of Life.
Of the 16,000 people groups in the world, more than 6,000 are considered unreached. These groups do not have access to the gospel due to cultural, linguistic, political or other barriers. Less than 1% of people in these groups are believers, and Christians in nearby areas are not reaching out to them.
Currently 96% of Christian workers and resources are concentrated on the third of the world who already call themselves Christian. A further 3% is dedicated to another third who already have access to the gospel. This leaves a third of the world who have never heard the gospel, for which we have dedicated less than 1% of Christian workers and resources.
In our churches
There are a number of candidates and cross-cultural workers currently in Queensland who are keen to share their stories with you (some profiled below). Please contact your State Office to arrange a time for them to visit.

Chris and Bron have been in the Silk Road Area since 2007. They’ve been involved in running English language programs. They enjoy the opportunity to serve the community while also being a tangible pointer to Jesus. Chris and Bronwyn are on home assignment in Queensland, returning to the Silk Road Area in 2011. |
The Global Interaction Guide 2011 is available in November with information about the people groups we serve, our cross-cultural workers, ways you can pray and projects you can support.
Global Entertaining
Global Entertaining is the delicious cookbook produced by the cultural connoisseurs of Global Interaction.
These 25 recipes have been gathered from the bustling street-stalls of Asia, the earthern ovens of Africa and the colourful spice-racks of the Subcontinent…adapted for Aussie pantries and taste-buds. Sprinkled throughout is stunning photography and cross-cultural foodie stories, capturing the essence of a shared meal.

All proceeds go to the work of Global Interaction
Gi6pro is a generation of Christian professionals who would, in the spirit of Isaiah 6, the early believers and great mission movements in history, simply raise their hand under the call of the master and say, “here am I, send me!”
This is an opportunity for professionals to serve for one to two years in Asia and Africa with Global Interaction. When one of our teams has a specific need for help, they will ask for someone through the Gi6pro program. Right now we need:

Please pray
We are dependent on God for all that we do, and prayer forms the foundation of our work. Each person who prays for the staff and ministry of Global Interaction is an important member of the Global Interaction family.
Click here for more information about how you can pray for the work of Global Interaction.
- Pray that there will be a revival among the unreached people groups as they begin to discover the grace and love of Jesus.
- Pray for strength, encouragement and discernment for all the Global Interaction cross-cultural workers as they seek to speak the name of Jesus.
- Pray for more churches and individuals to partner with Global Interaction’s work both prayerfully and financially.
