The people

Papua New Guinea has a population of about 6 million who together speak more than 820 different indigenous languages. More than 90% of people claim to follow Christianity, though in reality many are yet to understand what it means to be an authentic follower of Jesus in daily life. Many of the 450 churches of the Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (BUPNG) are active in sharing the Gospel with other people and enriching local communities.

The cross-cultural work

Global Interaction partners the BUPNG through consultancy, scholarships, and financial support for some of its work. Geoff Cramb, based in Australia, is Global Interaction’s Consultant to the leaders of the BUPNG.
