The people
Zambia and Zimbabwe are home to 23 million people in total, representing numerous language groups. About 50 to 75% of people claim to follow Christianity, which is often merged with traditional African religious beliefs and practices.
The cross-cultural work
From 1972 until 1998 Global Interaction staff worked in Zambia with the Northern Baptist Association of Zambia (NBAZ). In Zimbabwe, Global Interaction worked with churches of the Baptist Union of Zimbabwe (BUZ) during the 1980s as they transitioned from predominantly white membership to multi-ethnic membership. The relationship continues through scholarships, training programs, and consultancy visits by Keith Gallagher.
