Details
Keith and the leaders of the Zambian church groups want to get more Bibles in the hands of Zambians, particularly people in rural areas who are not easily able to purchase them. Their plan is to purchase a number of Bibles, which are already printed and are available for purchase at the Bible Society in Lusaka , then resell them at a small profit. The small profit would then cover the cost of distributing them to various rural locations, and the remaining funds would then be used to buy more stock, enabling future sales of Bibles.
Bibles in Lenge cost $8 each and Bibles in Bemba cost $12 each. Lamba Bibles, when available, cost $8 each.
In addition to this, Keith and church leaders see great benefit in supplying local Zambians with affordable Christian teaching material. Printing books and selling them is expensive, and purchasing books is not feasible for many locals. Instead, they plan to produce sermon style printed literature. This will be in an easy-reading format and would be 2-4 pages in length per topic. The literature would then be photocopied locally and sold at a minor profit which would enable additional photocopying and distribution.
The cost of purchasing 2-4 pages of material would be within the ability of local people, and what a benefit it could make to their lives!
