John and Karen are committed to continuing their growth in understanding and use of the 'heart language' of Cambodians. They will continue their language studies with a home based tutor for several hours per week, as there is still a lot to learn!  At times they will also engage a tutor to work with them on developing specific vocabulary, for example learning the words and expressions to use when talking about the Bible, male-female relationships and so on.  And, of course, they will continue to practise their language whenever possible in the community, as well as being students of the culture through observation and asking many questions.

John and Karen will also be developing printed Khmer materials for use in their workshops and teaching. They will be working closely with several Cambodians to ensure the written language is appropriate and understandable.
