For several years, it has been the desire of the Central Asia team to establish a Learning English and Culture centre.  This centre will enable them to enhance the English skills of, and build lasting relationships with, community members and their families.

The team has been keen to develop an additional, sustainable way of keeping our staff in the country other than teaching English, and the Learning English and Culture centre should provide this.  Our teachers will continue in their teaching roles, however new staff members will be able to work in the centre and be involved in the community.

The project received support several years ago for which we are very grateful, however unfortunately the centre was not able to be established at that time due to several different factors.  There is now a distinct possibility of setting up the Centre in late 2012 or early 2013, and the team are very excited by the possibilities it will bring!  It will allow them to live among and have a more direct impact on the local H community.

Costs associated with the centre include renting suitable premises, decorating and fitting out the premises with furniture, registration costs associated with setting up a new company, and salaries for local employees.
