Support received for this project will be used to help families who are struggling, often because of age or having a disabled person who needs to be cared for by their family.

Jan goes out into the local area with community nurses from time to time, and they bring her attention to families where they feel the family are in need and are unlikely to see their need met through other means.  Sometimes, the need is relatively minor and can be attended to immediately, such as fixing a broken wheelchair.  Other times, the identified need is more major, such as a problem with a roof or the need for a clean space to be provided for dialysis to be done on an unwell family member.  For the more major items, Larry and Jan speak with village leaders to get their input into whether it would be beneficial to assist the family.  Having the input of the village leaders is helpful, and often they are able to mobilize the village members to undertake the labour associated with the work that needs to be done.

Larry and Jan try to keep in contact with those families who have received assistance, both to see if they have any ongoing needs, and to foster a good relationship with them.  Larry and Jan share with the families about Christ as well, and some have responded positively which is great news.

Gifts are used to provide equipment for the disabled, transport to medical facilities, repair homes and help their children with school supplies.

A piece of equipment: - exercise ball $20, small exercise mat $50, padded corner chair $70, mattress to prevent bed sores $500
