Marg has lived in South East Asia for many years, and over that time has taught English and made lots of special friends with local people.  But even after all this time, Marg is still learning more about the language and in particular the local culture.  This kind of learning never stops!

Marg will unfortunately need to take a break from teaching for much of 2012, but intends to be back at the university in late 2012.  For the first half of the year, she will be focussing on formal language and culture studies, which will be quite different from the lesson plans, teaching and marking which have kept her busy for so many years.  Marg said she loves learning more about the local culture and is looking forward to the change of pace.

A former student of Marg's has already been helping her as her language nurturer and will continue in this role.   Marg will probably also meet with other language nurturers as well, and will devote much of her time to practising, reflecting on what she has learnt and planning for the future.
