An Ethnic Thai follower of Jesus, Den, had to make funeral arrangements for a relative.
Late last year, his mother-in-law passed away and he invited our faith community leaders to assist with the funeral arrangements and conduct a memorial service. However, once a relative found out about this, Den was bullied into cancelling and following the traditional routine.
More recently Den’s wife was threatened by local leaders to stop attending the faith community’s weekly gathering otherwise their household will be cut off from community. Encouraged by Jesus’ teaching to not be afraid, Den confronted the village headman about the threat. This could have had damaging consequences however the headman retracted his threat. Praise God!
Pray for Den, his wife and the Ethnic Thai believers as they grow and step out in faith and for the team as they walk alongside the believers as they follow Jesus within their own culture.
