Leadership Development Specialist

Papua New Guinea | Leadership and Training

In the early 1980’s the national leaders of the Churches and Global Interaction began the localization process, officially handing over responsibility and full management of the Baptist Churches in PNG to the Baptist Union of PNG (BUPNG). Since this time, the number of Global Interaction staff have steadily reduced as positions in all areas of church and medical life have been taken up by national people.

A mutually beneficial partnership exists between our two organizations to the benefit of people and to the glory of God.

The BUPNG leadership have recently identified the need for a residential specialist to develop and deliver units of training for trainers as well as overseeing the equipping of others. Working closely with the Co-ordinator of Ministry Training and the Director of Ministries and other leaders in the Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea, the focus will be equipping of pastors and training of trainers in their departments.

The qualification and experience for this person are:

  •  Registered Baptist Minister
  •  At least a primary degree in ministry/ theology
  •  A Cert IV Training and Assessment (or equivalent or higher)
  •  A working understanding of blended learning (competency based learning)
  •  Practical experience in equipping others
  •  Demonstrated suitability for cross-cultural involvement
  •  Although much would be in English, learning Melanesian Pidgin would be essential

Please contact your State Director for more information.
