“We have no example of the work of God in this world except as embodied in a particular culture. If we learn anything from history, it is surely that our culture is fluid. So the people of God must not assume that the message of the first century or the message of the sixteenth century is appropriate for the twenty first century. While the love of God is the same, the Holy Spirit forms very different people in very different ways. The bottom line is that we will always need to help each other. Leaders will need a good dose of humility lest we commit the blasphemy of running a God franchise. Strategic Mission Week should check our vanity, inspire us to learn and be responsive to the breath of God in our day and in this culture.”
Jon Owen - Pastor and CEO The Wayside Chapel
