The B people of South Asia
Living among the B people
Whilst the majority of B people are Muslim, many integrate pre-Islam folk traditions
in their day-to-day lives. Festivals often involve folk music and the singing of
spiritual songs is popular in both towns and villages. Our God’s heart for setting
words to music and melody is evident, “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the
Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name...” Psalm 96: 1-2 How we long
for the B people to be singing their praises to the Lord!
Local believers and seekers are equipped with a translation of the Bible, written
in a culturally understandable vernacular. The team is seeing believers engage with
God’s Word and grapple with what it means for their lives. Small groups are meeting
together, growing in faith and supporting each other. We praise God for our many
years of fruitful ministry among the B people.
