Andy and Cathie along with their three children, Charlie (born 2007), Ruby (born 2010) and Hugo (born 2013) arrived in Cambodia in early 2020. As opportunities arise and relationships form they continue to discern how their varied skills, gifts and experience in teaching, community development, business and theology can be used to come alongside Khmer people. They are particularly drawn to the younger generation who are exploring life in a globalised world within Khmer culture.
Charlie, Ruby and Hugo are enjoying life in Cambodia, especially playing with their new cat, chasing frogs and riding bikes down muddy tracks.
Andy and Cathie are being immersed in Khmer culture through everyday activities, learning the Khmer language and building relationships with Khmer people. Cathie is also involved in teacher training at a local NGO school whilst Andy is working alongside local Khmer as he teaches basic business skills.
Through their understanding of Khmer culture and their everyday life, Cathie and Andy's hope is that they can be a part of God’s redemptive work in Siem Reap and beyond. They pray that as Jesus transforms lives, a truly Khmer faith community will emerge.
