Jonno and Heather are Aussie followers of Jesus who have been living and working among the Yawo of Malawi and Mozambique since 2002. For many years Jonno led the team in setting up housing, strategy, government relations, team care, growth and unity while Heather home-schooled their five children through school, ministered to new mothers and babies and offered friendship and hospitality.
As new empty-nesters, they envision this next term looking very different to previous terms. They intend to be back in Mozambique once again where they look forward to re-engaging with many long-term friendships and hopefully building some new ones too. They also hope to continue caring for the team and supporting the wider work among the Yawo where able.
Along with the team, Jonno and Heather praise God that there are now Yawo believers working out what it means to be Yawo followers of Christ in their own communities. However, there are still many Yawo who have not heard about the forgiveness, redemption and restoration that only Christ can bring. Heather and Jonno hope to play a part in introducing Yawo friends to Jesus as Lord and Saviour!
They are so grateful to the people and churches who have faithfully partnered with them over many years. It has truly been a team effort of God’s people on mission!
