Ministry House Opening! - Thailand

Wednesday 24 Jan

We celebrate the opening of the faith communities' ministry house.

Liz and Glenn write, “A few years ago, our team members moved away from where the rural faith community members live, and they have had to learn to stand by themselves in their communities. Sometimes this has been hard, especially during COVID. There has also been some resistance in their families and communities. But through it all, we have heard stories from them of their faith in Jesus continuing to grow.

As a team, we have been praying about how to best continue to support them—was there something more than the regular visits and leadership training that we could do?

One answer to this prayer has come in the form of a ministry house. Under the guidance of Dema, the team has helped the faith communities to establish a ministry house in Ban Luang, the town where we lived in 2018.

And so, in December last year, the three rural faith communities and the team came together to officially open the ministry house. As is the tradition in Thai culture, this was quite a formal event, including prayers, ribbon cutting, an oil blessing and a procession. This was a special day for the members. We all enjoyed some singing, prayer, a message, a time of sharing about what God had done in their lives, as well as some fun and games.”

Dema and Carolyn continue, “During the opening of the ministry house, two of the faith community leaders became very emotional as they read the song, 'Thank you Jesus for your love.' It was overwhelming to see people, who never show emotions in public be so moved to tears by the power of God’s love that is so rich and pure.

The ministry house spurs a lot of excitement and gratitude among the believers. Their vision is for the house to be a place of worship, training and other ministry activities. Praise God for His provision and pray that it will be used for His glory and His kingdom’s extension. Pray for more opportunities to grow and expand the work of God through this place”
